Eating Disorders I work with a registered dietician and your primary care physician to help you in your recovery from an eating disorder. You can meet with me once a week or on an as needed basis to meet the demands of your busy schedule.
Depression & Mood Disorders I use an individualized approach with behavioral strategies. My approach is to provide client-centered, empowerment-based depression counseling for men, women, and adolescents. One of the goals of treating depression is for clients to be able to expand their coping skills.
General Practice I also offer some psychological education about how symptoms are expressed and present themselves. I also help clients with a broad array of presenting problems, including anxiety, stress, adjusting to change, marital or family conflict, and assertiveness.
Forms & Location For your convenience, I've provided some of the initial paperwork you would need to complete when coming in for an intake evaluation. There is also a map of my office location available.

My Treatment Approach My theoretical orientation is primarily humanistic and client-centered. I believe that my clients generally know what is best for themselves and I tend to take a strengths-based approach in working with people. However, I also consider myself to be an integrationist in that I will utilize other strategies, including cognitive-behavioral, existential, feminist, and systems approaches as needed.
I have a passion for diversity and social justice. My cultural competency trainings have been invaluable in my work with clients and I strive to provide care that is professional, accepting, and celebrates diversity across ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, age, marital status, education, and identity. I believe that everyone should have access to mental health services.
My Education & Training I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in August 2004. As part of my graduate degree, I was a pre-doctoral intern at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). My Master of Arts, also in Counseling Psychology, was completed at Notre Dame in January 2001. I graduated with Highest Distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University in December 1997, with a double major in English and psychology, along with a minor in Women's Studies.
